VOTE: The Best Live Version of “All Along The Watchtower”

We value your input so please make comments at the end of this post.

DylanAllAlongTheWatchtower SongMango.comIt is one of Bob Dylan’s most widely covered songs – Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead, Neil Young, Pearl Jam, U2 and The Dave Matthews Band all leap to mind. And there are, of course, others – simply too many to list here.

Bob Dylan wrote and recorded it in 1967, Jimi Hendrix gave it wings in 1968 (on Electric Ladyland) and a bevy of other musicians piled on, over the years, with their own varied interpretations. “All Along the Watchtower” would become the top-selling single for The Jimi Hendrix Experience and their only Top-40 hit in the United States, peaking at No. 20.

Have a listen to the different interpretations of “Watchtower” by this A-list of musicians – and please be sure to vote (at bottom) for the best-played version (in your humble opinion). We are conducting an entirely unscientific poll.

Remember to jack up the volume – loud.
