This week’s installment of the Grateful Dead’s “All the Year’s Live” video series showcases “High Time” performed on July 16, 1990 during the heat of the band’s legendary summer tour.

The pro-shot video takes us down onto the stage before a jam-packed Rich Stadium in Orchard Park, NY.

Tragically, keyboardist Brent Mydland would pass away just 10 days after this performance. The band would never be quite the same.

The Grateful Dead’s longtime archivist serves up an intro:

High Time was played quite a bit in 1969 and 1970, and was one of the many standouts on Workingman’s Dead in 1970 (OK, all eight songs on the album are standouts!). It was dropped in 1970 until it made its return in 1976, and it was played every year 1976-1995 with the exception of 1978, 1983, and 1989.
