DeadTest™ Vol. 47 – Is That A Cover?

by Peter Wendel
We value your input so please make comments at the end of this post.

The 47th installment of the DeadTest™ focuses on the rich tapestry of cover songs the band wove into its live repertoire. From rock-n-roll giants like the Beatles to blues masters like Howlin’ Wolf to country greats like Johnny Cash, the Grateful Dead performed a vibrant array of covers that explored a wide swath of our musical heritage.

Dead shows had it all – everything rolled up into one big celebration of music, and life! It’s so true what they say: “There just ain’t nothin’ quite like a Dead show!”

To pass this DeadTest™, you’ll need to be able to tell the originals from the covers and the artists behind them. Listen carefully, there are a couple tricky ones in there.

Have fun and good luck! And from all of us at SongMango, stay happy and healthy! We’ll be through this soon!
