SkynyrdAlbumArtToday’s RockTrivia Question is dedicated to Lynyrd Skynyrd – the hard-partying band out of Jacksonville, FL, that put Southern-rock firmly on the map in the 1970s.

In one of rock music’s most devastating losses, Skynyrd’s plane crashed in a Mississippi swamp on the night of October 20, 1977 – 39 years ago – killing frontman Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines, and his sister, backup singer Cassie Gaines. The band’s manager and both pilots also perished.
